Less and Less (Kiss Despair Sheemix)

about

i'd always wanted to hear more than one version of a song of mine but rarely pursued it beyond doing an electric / acoustic version or re-recording a track with a different group of people. i worked on a movie that was written and directed by Evan Blakley several years ago and felt he'd be the best person to ask to remix Less and Less, even though he'd never done a remix of a song before. i gave him carte blanche to do whatever he wanted, so long as he didn't make me sound like Radiohead. i gave him examples of songs that had had either alternate versions or wild remixes (Late Night by Syd Barrett, L'esclave Endormi by Richenel, and I'm Afraid of Americans by David Bowie) and told him there was nothing *not* off the table, other than the Radiohead thing. i then played several tracks off of Halber Mensch by Einstruzende Neubaten to warp him a bit further. it seemed like a good idea at the time.

lyrics

in some respects, this remix is reminiscent of some of the tracks from my Blilss Repair CD "Lo-fi Enlightenment." there are loads of unauthorized samples in the songs on that CD so it may be tricky to find a copy. i still really love that disc. go look for it.

this is 99.9% Evan. he mixed it with Tom Ware at Ware House Productions who added all the sonic wallop the song required. i mostly nodded in approval.
